The Ibero-American Network of Community Foundations–IANCF works for the development of Ibero-American Communities by strengthening community philanthropy organizations in the region. The network promotes integrated initiatives and experiences exchange among its members, improving their social impact and the development of local communities. Our members are community foundations located in different countries of the Ibero-American region such as Brazil, Spain, Mexico, Portugal and Uruguay.
The network began in February 2013, as a result of an international conversation initiative by Fundación Bertelsmann (Spain) and community foundations from Spain, Portugal Brazil and Mexico, united around the opportunity to exchange experiences and work to strengthen the field of community philanthropy.
Since May 2013, ICOM– Instituto Comunitário Grande Florianópolis coordinates the network´s activities. ICOM is an innovative community foundation established in 2005 in Southern Brazil. It has been coordinating IANCF together with a committee called “the network´s weavers” . The IANCF is part of a global movement of community foundations from 50 countries, approximately 1,700 instituitions represented.

Community Foundations are non-profit institutions that mobilize and invest technical and financial resources in a specific geographical area. Its goals are to improve quality of life of a population, articulating people and organizations in the promotion of community development.
